I finished my novel for this years Nanowrimo on Sunday!
I really wanted to have Thanksgiving week free, since we are having family over to stay, so I did the push to get 15,500 words written in three days. I managed to do so with the help of Go Teen Writers Word War. I had a blast and managed to get out up to 7,000 words a day! I had tons of fun and was so excited to have finished my first trilogy! The editing process for these babies will be intense, but it will also be exciting to go back and meet up with past characters once more. Exchange pleasantries, share how much I missed them, and add more excitement to their lives. You know, all that good stuff.
So, I thought I would share some of my favorite writing moments with you all from this November. If you are doing Nanowrimo this year, I would love to hear your highlights as well! So here is my short list of favorites from the month.
Favorite Character: Sparrow.
He is a orphaned boy of seventeen years, he works aboard a slave ship as an indentured servant. As a child he was raised by the stars, as are many orphans in the Realm. He meets the protagonist, Shiloh, near the end of the story and aids in his escape back home.
Favorite Scene: Ember's Pendant.
Luna shows Kathrine Ember's dragon pendant which he had always kept as a reminder that no matter what others said about his outward appearance, he could always be strong on the inside. Kathrine recalled much of her past in this scene, for the pendant brought it back. I loved getting to write scenes involving her past betrothed, Julian. I was never able to write with him in a scene until these scenes, so it was neat getting to know this character of history better.
Favorite Dialog Quote: Scarlet the Star
“I did not call him, nor did another star, not even Ulrica... But one greater than even him.” Scarlet spoke softly now, her eyes radiant.
