At fourteen years old I decided to pick up writing novels. I had always loved writing essays and
reports but I had never considered writing novels. I was introduced to Nanowrimo by a friend, I
decided to try it out. Ever since I have done every Nanowrimo that they have had. I found a new love in writing novels. A new world was opened up to me, one I could create myself. I have a firm belief in using coffee as a writing fuel. C. S. Lewis has always been my inspiration, I have cried (no joke) over the fact that I can't meet him or ask him writing tips. Ever since I was a little girl I loved his books, Narnia really was my alternate world as a child.

I want to write showing messages that point to Christ and inspire others to do greater things.

I am sixteen years old and brand new to writing novels, as you can see. I am very open to learning and would love to hear advice from others who have more experience.

When I'm not writing I work on graphic design and listen to awesome music. But when I need to get away from my computer I enjoy getting my energy out by practicing my Karate with my nine other siblings.

Thanks for checking out my writing!

First things first.

I'm taken.  The Maker of the Universe totally stole my heart.  His Name is Jesus, and He is everything to me. <3

I drink too much coffee and I wish I could eat chocolate all day.

At 11 years old, as I sat in the dental hygienist's chair, I was asked what I liked to do in my spare time.  Completely serious about my craft, I responded frankly and honestly, "I enjoy writing novels."

Not too much further down the road, the cynicism started to kick in and I felt incompetent in my writings.  I became a perfectionist, discouraging myself, feeling incompetent in my work...

Then God's grace broke through and I realized that I'm still that 11-year-old girl.  The one with the romantic dreams.  The one that wrote fantasies in her spare time.  That created worlds, shaped characters, formed the histories of fairies, mermaids, and elves.

I have always had a love for words.  Ever since I learned to read, I consumed books at what my parents called an 'alarming rate'.  I relished in discovering new words.  Adjectives delighted me.  Punctuation fascinated me.  Strong verbs made my heart beat faster. (I know, this sounds ridiculously nerdy, but bear with me!)

I am passionate about changing the world through storytelling.  Jesus reached into the hearts of the multitudes through His parables.  He taught lessons about eternal life and the Kingdom of God through his stories.  Lives can be changed through the art of skillfully crafted words.

I want to be a part.  Will you join me?  Powered by Jesus, and maybe a little coffee, and those chocolate-covered caramels pictured above, I'm confident that we can change the world. ;-)
